Think you can sing? Want to be the next Leona Lewis? Well now's your chance! Budding superstars from around the country are being offered their shot at stardom thanks to our national singing competition 'Fame Finder 2007'.
Fame Finder will see hundreds of talented wannabes thrashing it out on stage for a chance to go through to the local final and stake their claim to £100 worth of Club 18 to 30 holiday vouchers and a place in the regional finals in November. The winner of the regional heat will receive £1,000 and will be automatically entered into the national final where they will compete against 10 other contestants for a shot at the 2007 Yates' Fame Finder title, walking away with the amazing £10,000 cash prize.
The national champion will be in good company, too, with singing sensation Leona Lewis a previous winner of the competition.
'Yates is all about going out and having fun with your mates, this is why this competition has proven so popular over the years as anyone can take part, which makes for a great night out. The competition also offers a fantastic opportunity for shining stars to stand up and be counted. The fact that Leona Lewis made her first big breakthrough in our competition just goes to show that one of our own could be a star tomorrow.' says the Brand Manager for Yates, Lindsay Galbadaarachchi.
In addition to finding the next chart toppers, the competition will also be raising money for the Association of Children's Hospices (ACH), the national voice for 40 children’s hospice services across the UK. Children's hospice services offer a lifeline to children who will not live to reach adulthood and their families, providing essential support including short breaks and expert clinical care . Each Yates across the UK will be collecting for their own local children's hospice service with the aim to raise £500 per bar, so now there's even more reason to get involved!
The pub heats for Fame Finder 2007 take place at Yates during August and September. Regional finals will then take place before the glittering grand final at Yates Leicester Square, London, on Sunday 9 December.
